Excuse me, is this "the home for old Bunnies?" Whatever happened to Paige, Lily, Carol, Gretchen, Lori, Traci, Judy, Kathy, Russi, Robin, Angela, Toni, Sugar, Corki, Taffi and Janet? And the Bar and Bus staff--Chaz? Eddie? I remember you like it was yesterday. And others, too. Naomi? And...was it Sue? Elizabeth, where are you?

Thinking back makes me smile with tears in my eyes...

I was so naive and innocent! We worked as a team, a lot harder than anyone guessed (often 12-hours straight in 3" heels) but my "Bunny sisters," each so unique, made the job so much fun! It was like being in a sorority. Our wonderfully sensible seamstress, Elizabeth, who knew exactly what color was right for each girl (and how to reassure new girls who were shy) was like the dorm monitor.

Customers who were looking for someone used to ask, "Whatever happens to old Bunnies?" Back in the dressing room, Bunnies nervously asked each other the same thing. We had no idea! --And we weren't sure we wanted to find out! The world was insecure. We feared "The Bomb" and Vietnam; but the cool, classy darkness of the Club, with it's sophisticated music, made us feel "in control."

I was thrilled to be hired as a Bunny, because my "gifted" high school curriculum hadn't prepared me to go to work! I knew the 3-D formula for a nautilus shell backward and forward, but no business would hire me, because I couldn't type! Now, I can look back and laugh. I learned how to type and much more. I can even ANSWER the question, "Whatever happens to old Bunnies?"
